How to Use

Protect Your PDF

  1. Drag and drop a PDF file onto the upload area, or click to browse
  2. Set a User Password (required to open the PDF) and/or an Owner Password (required to change permissions)
  3. Configure permissions to control printing, copying, editing, and more
  4. Click "Protect PDF" to download the encrypted file

Password Types

  • User Password (Open): Anyone opening the PDF must enter this password. If left empty, the document opens without a password but still enforces permission restrictions via the owner password.
  • Owner Password (Permissions): Controls what users can do with the document. Entering this password in a PDF reader grants full access regardless of permission settings. At least one password is required.

Encryption

  • All files are encrypted using AES-256, the strongest encryption available for PDF documents
  • AES-256 is a symmetric encryption standard used by governments and industries worldwide
  • The encrypted PDF conforms to the PDF 2.0 specification

Privacy & Security

  • All processing happens locally in your browser
  • Your PDF files and passwords are never uploaded to any server
  • No data is stored or transmitted
  • Works completely offline once the page is loaded
